Donald Trump has once again warned Iran, escalating rhetoric ahead of expected talks in Pakistan, amid heightened regional tensions.
In a phone interview with the New York Post, Trump stated that U.S. warships are being equipped with "the best ammunition," hinting at military preparations should negotiations fail and the situation escalate.
"We will find out within about 24 hours. We will know soon," he said, referring to the possibility of the talks' success.
He added that the U.S. is conducting a "repositioning" of forces and arming the fleet with advanced weapons, which he described as the most powerful ever built.
Trump also warned Tehran that if an agreement is not reached, Washington will use "force very effectively," further increasing tensions between the two countries at a critical diplomatic moment.
