The rise in oil prices due to the war in the Middle East was one of the points on which the head of government Edi Rama stopped during discussions in the PS Assembly in unit 4 in Tirana.

According to Rama, the increase in oil prices is a consequence of the crisis worldwide due to the war, but in the broader picture it is not seen only as an effect of the crisis. Rama recalled once again that a public oil company will be established to guarantee that citizens pay only what they owe.

"Our duty is to govern but also to inform. Today we have the problem of oil, which has been hit in price by the crisis, but it is also a problem beyond the crisis. This finds us at a time when we had actually started to enter the oil market with a state factor, with a public company, to guarantee that citizens are not forced to pay more than they owe.

The law is under consultation for the reserve that the state must maintain. Within two months we will introduce another non-manipulable dye to formalize the oil market. There is a quantity of oil that is outside the state's radar. Another thing that happens with oil is transit oil and it remains in Albania illegally," said Rama.
