Another case of burning tires and cables was recorded this Friday near the bridge over the Mat River, on the Milot–Lezhë road segment, renewing concerns about water and air pollution. The burning caused thick smoke, visible in this part of the river and noticeably affecting drivers. This phenomenon is recurring and has long remained a serious problem for health and the environment. The incident comes just days after the intervention of the State Police in the same area, where two individuals were criminally charged after being caught in the act of burning cables near the banks of the Mat River. Previously, police had issued a search for a person in similar cases, indicating that the phenomenon continues despite legal measures. Authorities are calling on citizens to report any such incidents, while an increase in controls is expected to prevent the recurrence of these events that damage the environment and endanger public safety.
