Prime Minister Rama on a working visit to Italy and Spain. The Prime Minister is expected to hold high-level meetings on the progress of cooperation projects with Italy and at the Summit for the Defense of Democracy in Spain. Additionally, Rama will undertake a working visit to Rome and Barcelona from April 16–18, as part of international commitments and strengthening cooperation with European partners.

During his stay in Italy, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, followed by a meeting with Defense Minister Guido Crosetto.

Continuing the visit, Prime Minister Rama will participate, upon the invitation of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, in the proceedings of the fourth meeting of the "In Defense of Democracy" Summit, taking place in Barcelona, Spain.

The summit's proceedings will focus on key themes such as "Institutions and Multilateralism" as well as "Disinformation and Digital Technology," with special attention given to regulating the digital environment to combat disinformation, strengthening democratic institutions and multilateralism, and addressing inequalities as a foundation for a strong democracy.

Within the framework of the Summit, Prime Minister Rama will also hold bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Sanchez and the President of the European Council, António Costa.
