The court ruled that no additional debate was necessary on this matter and emphasized that Maks Haxhia is legitimized as the defender of one of the accused, in this case, Ajola Xoxa, and that requests should only pertain to this trial. Lawyer Plarent Ndreca supported his colleague and stressed that the role of the lawyer is part of due legal process and that individual competencies cannot be separated. He requested a two-day deadline to familiarize himself with the case file and prepare a detailed defense plan, arguing that any unjustified haste does not serve justice. Ndreca added that the trial has public impact due to Veliaj's role as a mayor elected multiple times by vote. In the same session, the accused Elman Abule requested the separation of his case for expedited trial, arguing that the number of accused is high and the criminal act he is charged with falls under the jurisdiction of another court. The court is expected to review the requests and proposed deadlines to ensure effective defense for all accused. Elman Abule affirmed in the courtroom: "I request an expedited trial; I stand by the request made by my lawyer." Meanwhile, Dritan Jahaj, representative of Mirton Lika and his company Lal shpk, stated: "Our request pertains to the determination of subject-matter jurisdiction. We have determined that this court is not competent to adjudicate these acts and request that the case be transferred to another court."
