The race for tickets to the 2026 World Cup final, set to take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, has reached surreal levels. According to the Associated Press, FIFA's official ticket sales portal lists four seats in the first ring behind the goal at an astronomical price of $2,299,998 (approximately โ‚ฌ2 million) each.

Although FIFA does not directly control the prices set by sellers on its Marketplace, the organization regulates the operation by taking a 15% commission from both the buyer and the seller.

The platform's price list shows significant discrepancies, with seats in the third ring ranging from $23,000 to $138,000 (from โ‚ฌ20,000 to โ‚ฌ118,000) within just a few meters, while the most "economical" tickets for the tournament's final act cost $10,923 (โ‚ฌ9,500).

FIFA has defended the dynamic pricing model, describing it as aligned with North American sports industry standards and aimed at optimizing sales and attendance through market value.
