Support for Britain's full return to the European Union, rather than just rejoining the single market, is growing among British voters. According to a study analyzing voter attitudes 10 years after the Brexit referendum, more than 80% of supporters of the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, and Green Party favor this option, reports The Guardian. Labour's cautious approach to this issue risks costing them the support of progressive voters even in their traditional strongholds known as the "red wall," experts warned in a study by the organization Best for Britain. A full return to the European Union is supported by 53% of voters overall. According to the poll, support reaches 83% among Labour voters, 84% among Liberal Democrats, and 82% among Greens. Among Conservative Party and Reform UK voters, the percentages supporting this policy are 39% and 18%, respectively, according to Best for Britain. Britain held a referendum in June 2016 on whether to leave or remain in the European Union. 52 percent of voters agreed to leave, while 48 percent voted to remain. The result surprised many and sparked protests, particularly in regions where Brexit had little support, such as Scotland. The UK had been a member of the EU since 1973 and became the first country to leave the bloc, a process that took about two years.
