New York City Mayor Eric Adams, after obtaining Albanian citizenship, has been registered as a resident of Tirana. The head of the government, Edi Rama, shared a photo together with Adams, describing it as a significant moment for the relations and image of Albania in the international arena. According to Rama, Adams' visit to Albania and the positive impressions of Tirana were decisive in this symbolic step. Who would have ever imagined that the Mayor of New York City would request an Albanian passport to also become a citizen of Albania? No one. How? Why? Because Eric Adams is a great friend of the Albanian community in New York and had promised to visit Albania before the end of his term. When he came to Albania, he liked Tirana so much that he said: Can I become a citizen of this little New York that I never imagined to be so attractive? And so the mayor of the world's most famous city became, by law and custom, an ambassador of a reborn Albania," he writes.
