Authorities in Greece have arrested two young men in Athens, suspected of involvement in criminal activities linked to an organized group of Albanian origin. The incident occurred on April 14 in the Agios Panteleimonas area, where during a routine patrol, officers from the DI.AS unit stopped a 22-year-old foreigner and a 19-year-old Greek, who were considered suspicious. During a physical check, police found 61 doses of cannabis with a total weight of about 89 grams, divided and ready for distribution, as well as 520 euros suspected to be proceeds from illegal activity. Investigations revealed that the young men are suspected of acting under the orders of Eno Alexandros Mata, a person known to Greek justice, who is currently imprisoned in Malandrino. During a subsequent search of the 22-year-old's residence by investigative authorities in Athens, an additional 92 grams of cannabis, two electronic scales, a significant quantity of nylon bags for packaging, as well as hard objects such as an iron knuckle and a folding knife were seized. According to authorities, the same person, Eno Alexandros Mata, is also involved in other serious cases, including the murder of lawyer Michalis Zafeiropoulos in 2017, as well as a kidnapping case in Thessaloniki. Investigations are ongoing to fully uncover the network and activities of the criminal group.
