The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, convened the Chairmen's College this Monday, describing the moment as significant for the party and the country. In his speech, Berisha directed accusations at Prime Minister Edi Rama, claiming that he is aiming for an alternative form of integration into the European Union, which, according to Berisha, conflicts with national interests. He expressed that the report on Albania did not receive proper support, alleging that the number of opposing countries has increased. Additionally, Berisha accused Rama of, together with Aleksandar Vuฤiฤ‡, sending a letter to the EU requesting another form of integration that does not involve full membership but only trade agreements and free movement. According to Berisha, such an approach constitutes "punishment for Albanians" and an act against national interests. In conclusion, he called on Democrats to mobilize and protest, demanding strong resistance until the removal of the current government.
