U.S. embassy officials, who according to foreign media were linked to CIA activities, lost their lives in a car accident in the northern state of Chihuahua in Mexico. Two Mexican officials were also killed in the accident, while authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. According to preliminary information, the vehicle they were traveling in veered off the road, ended up in a ravine, and then exploded. The four victims were returning from a meeting with Mexican officials, as part of an operation to dismantle a drug laboratory in a remote area. Mexico's President, Claudia Sheinbaum, stated that she will investigate whether the operation and the possible involvement of the American side violated the country's national security laws. On the other hand, the Attorney General of Chihuahua, Cesar Jauregui Moreno, clarified that the American officials were not directly involved in the action against the drug laboratory.
