Former President Bamir Topi has leveled strong accusations against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, declaring that he collaborates with Prime Minister Edi Rama to conduct business and share the benefits of power.

Topi stated that Berisha and Rama are owners of the political parties that govern and thus control the political life in the country.

He added that Berisha's recent actions and the political moves of the opposition clearly show that the former prime minister and his group have reached their political end. According to Topi, Berisha, with a handful of people in the PD, is trying to forcibly maintain power in any form within this political force.

"The system gave the opportunity to the two main parties to be in control of the entire political life in the country. Do not forget this. It has been functioning this way for 16 years. Albanian politics has had hundreds of problems, but it has never been like this. So, it gave the opportunity to the two party leaders to form their teams through appointments. Berisha and Rama, being owners of the political parties, are owners of the political life in the country, owners of many important benefits, properties, businesses.

But from a political point of view, this twist, this need to take such actions, shows that Sali Berisha and his group are at the end, they have no way out. They no longer regenerate. Berisha no longer knows anyone, except for a narrow group that guarantees him, whether through hate speech, slander, or 'tough' talkโ€”political language should be political language. He should open the game, but in his subconscious, it is 'I started the game,' because there is also a kind of discussion here about whether he started the game in 1990, because there was someone else who started it... Berisha, throughout this not insignificant period, has only scored own goals in service of the opposing team," said Topi, among other things.

Regarding the expulsion of Salianji and many other members from the PD, Topi said that this action clearly showed that Berisha is a communist who has been 'masked' as a democrat during these times.

"Berisha, by expelling Salianji, shows that he has been, has behaved in that kind of metamorphosis as a democrat, and in the end, he has ended up again as a communist," concluded former President Topi.
