The historic Artemis 2 mission, which is returning humanity to the Moon after more than 50 years, is proceeding with complete success, says NASA. The crew has successfully completed the engine burn to exit Earth's orbit and begin the journey toward the natural satellite.
The enthusiasm on board is so great that the astronauts are "pressed against the windows" to enjoy the spectacular view of space, even smudging them due to their proximity and eagerness to take photographs.
During the live broadcast, Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen stated that the crew is feeling very well during the journey: "The crew is feeling pretty good up here, on the way to the Moon."
He added that he clearly felt the strength and dedication required for such a historic mission.
Four astronauts launched from Florida on Wednesday (April 1) on NASA's Artemis II mission. The Artemis II crew consists of NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. They are planned for a nearly 10-day expedition around the Moon and back, venturing deeper into space than humans have ever gone before.
