The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has announced that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. According to his statement published on the Truth Social platform, the agreement was reached after negotiations he held with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump made it known that the ceasefire is expected to take effect at 17:00 Eastern US time, adding that diplomatic efforts will continue to secure a long-term agreement. In this regard, the US Vice President, JD Vance, and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, will engage in negotiations with both parties "to achieve a lasting peace." At the end of his statement, Trump reiterated his frequent claim of having contributed to resolving nine conflicts, emphasizing that "this will be my tenth."
