Defense Minister Pirro Vengu stated that the 15-day ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran is expected to positively impact the stabilization of energy markets, enabling the sustainable reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, the initial effects of this agreement are already reflected in the decline of international oil prices. Vengu emphasizes that this should be directly mirrored in the domestic market as well, calling for wholesale price reductions to be accompanied by equivalent decreases in retail prices. He adds that during this period, the government and law enforcement agencies have maintained continuous oversight of the market, taking measures to alleviate price pressures and prevent abuses. According to Vengu, these mechanisms will remain active to ensure that throughout the supply chain, from importers to distributors, no one unjustly profits from the situation.
