In recent days, our country has seen an online scam campaign targeting citizens through SMS messages, falsely presenting itself as the Road Police or Albanian Post. Citizens are notified of an unpaid fine or an undelivered package and are invited to click on a link that actually leads to a fake page mimicking an official website, where users are asked to enter their bank card details, which end up in the hands of scammers. Cybersecurity specialist Juled Mardodaj says: "Phishing formats via messages are the most widespread worldwide, not just here. The aim is to obtain citizens' personal and banking data. The perpetrators are mainly foreign." Based on this situation, the National Authority for Cybersecurity has collaborated with operators, banks, and institutions to limit the impact and block fraudulent domains. However, the most critical link remains the end user, namely citizens, who must be more cautious in their online navigation. "Citizens should keep in mind some basic rules: Do not click on links from unknown SMS or emails. Always verify the website address (URL). State institutions do not request payments or banking data via links in SMS. Do not share sensitive data such as card numbers. If you receive such an SMS, report the case to the relevant authorities," adds the expert. According to experts, a simple check of a few seconds before clicking a link can prevent financial loss and exposure of personal data. Therefore, before any click, verification should be carried out, and personal data should not be provided on unsecured platforms. /Top Channel/
