The National Food Authority has announced that it discovered and blocked in the premises of a warehouse belonging to the subject "Merja," a quantity of 3,984 kg of mixed dried plant products, packaged in plastic bags but without labels, lacking information on their expiration date, origin, and composition. These plants were blocked from being traded. Regarding this, the folk healer Ylli Merja spoke today on "Shqipรซria Live," saying he was surprised as he had never had problems during inspections by the NFA before. "We have a licensed and legal activity since 2008. I have never had any problems. A few days ago, an inspection was conducted by the NFA. We have maintained a data system where we kept track of the farmers from whom we obtained the plants and payments, as well as the conditions. The medicinal plant material is first collected, then cleaned and moved to another room where it is sorted and labeled, and then selected. The published footage shows the moment when the plants are mixed. I don't know why it was blocked. Perhaps they want a label that says 'in half production.' They have never asked for this before. The inspection was sudden. We buy the product from Albanian farmers but also import it. Imports come with documents, while with farmers, it is only wild plants, and we do not receive labels. From them, we get the NIPT, the product is cleaned, and then sorted and processed. The last inspection before this case was in 2025. There is no toxicity there. Let's go analyze it. NFA employees did not take any samples. They only asked for labels and inquired what teas they were. I will follow up on this matter by taking samples and sending them to the laboratory for biological analysis to determine the toxicity level. I swear manfully that if something like that comes out, I will close the business," he said.
