A small plane crashed yesterday at noon in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. As a result of the crash, the pilot died at the scene. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., when the small plane crashed into a meadow for reasons that are still unclear. Photos from the scene show the deformed wreckage of the aircraft lying overturned. According to the Bern cantonal police, emergency services that arrived immediately at the scene were only able to confirm the pilot's death. "The deceased was a 64-year-old Swiss citizen from the canton of Solothurn," stated a press release. It is currently unknown where the plane took off from and what its destination was. The exact cause of the accident is being investigated by the Bern cantonal police, in cooperation with the Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (STSB), under the direction of the Swiss Attorney General's Office.
