There are no investigative commissions for AKSHI and ARRSH. The Conference of Chairpersons did not approve the two opposition requests. Due to the disagreement between PS and PD, the two requests will proceed to the plenary session on Thursday, where the socialists are not expected to change their stance, and they will be rejected by a majority vote.
PD requested investigative commissions to examine the legality of ARRSH's actions in implementing investments in road infrastructure and the legality of AKSHI's operations, to assess cybersecurity and the protection of citizens' data, as well as to analyze risks to national security and Albania's obligations as a NATO member country.
During the meeting of the Conference of Chairpersons, the opposition complained that the socialist majority continuously refuses to approve the establishment of parliamentary investigative commissions. On the other hand, the Ethics Secretariat took punitive measures against 2 PD deputies, Flamur Noka with a 20-day suspension from parliament and 10 days for Elda Hoti.
Albana Vokshi from PD and Taulant Balla from PS apologized. The punitive measures came after the chaos in the plenary session on April 2. Taulant Balla from PS requested 1 minute of silence for the 4 martyrs of democracy in 1991, but the democrats, instead of honoring them, chose to block the session.
