Tomorrow morning, the City Transport Association and the Urban and Interurban Transport Association will hold a meeting to decide on the possibility of reducing the fleet of buses in circulation. The City Transport Association and the Urban and Interurban Transport Association addressed another letter today to the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaรงi, requesting urgent intervention for compensation. In the absence of an institutional response, as the ministries promised another meeting after the one held on April 1, which has not yet taken place, operators say they will not be able to sustain the continuation of their activities. The main demand of the operators remains the provision of compensation, implementing a scheme similar to that of 2022. During the April 1 meeting, the transport associations proposed a compensation measure for diesel fuel at a rate of 100 lek per liter. In total, across the country, about 235 operators are licensed for 450 regular lines in the public transport sector.
