A powerful story of sacrifice and courage comes from the USA, where a child of just 5 years old has become a hero after saving the life of his younger brother. Ashkan Thibodeaux, known as Ash, was playing near a creek in Minnesota when his brother Wyatt suddenly fell into the icy waters.
Without a second thought, the little boy immediately jumped in to rescue him, managing to pull him to safety. But in his attempt to get out himself, he became trapped in the water and was unable to escape. Emergency teams quickly intervened and pulled the unconscious child out, performing resuscitation for over six hours to save his life.
He was urgently transported to the hospital, where he was placed on life support for more than 24 hours as doctors fought to stabilize him. According to the family, his condition has begun to gradually improve, although the road to recovery remains long and difficult. He has also undergone surgery due to severe injuries sustained from exposure to the cold water.
