For the family of Ramiz Alia, there were 12 servants, and for others, 2-3 people. Specifically, for the Hoxha family, the salary of this personnel for the years 1988-1990 reached 406 thousand lekë, for the Alia family 260 thousand lekë, for the Çarçani family 102 thousand lekë, for the Çeliku, Çuko, Myftiu, Bekteshi, Isai, Marko, Murra families, etc., from 70-75 thousand lekë. The total salary of this personnel reached 2.2 million lekë. One of the first investigative commissions approved by the first pluralist parliament of 1991 was a commission to verify the expenses and luxury of the families of the communist bloc. The staggering figures of expenditures are listed in the report presented to parliament by the state commission with experts from the High State Control. One of the details of this report relates to the number of servants working in the villa of dictator Enver Hoxha and other families of the communist bloc. The report highlights the significantly higher number of servants in the villas of dictator Enver Hoxha, followed by the also high number in the villas of Ramiz Alia. The expenses to employ and feed these daily servants of the leadership were very high for the time. Considering the extreme poverty among Albanians, the figures are extraordinary. Besides being paid to serve the leadership, the employees had a special status compared to other workers because they were treated with higher salaries and free food allowances. Only for the servants of the dictator's family for one year, 406 thousand new lekë were spent, while the average salary in Albania at that time was about 250 new lekë. The topic brings details of this report, which became part of a broad debate in parliament in the autumn of 1991.

"In the service of the families of members and candidates of the Political Bureau, the Presidium of the People's Assembly, the secretaries of the Central Committee of the Party, and some special persons, a considerable number of employees were maintained and treated with salary and food. For each of the above-mentioned families, 2-3 people were made available as service personnel, while for the family of Nexhmije Hoxha, 20 people, for that of Ramiz Alia, 12 people. For the last 3 years, the salary of this personnel has amounted to 2.2 million lekë. Specifically, for the Hoxha family, the salary of this personnel for the years 1988-1990 reaches 406 thousand lekë, for the Alia family 260 thousand lekë, for the Çarçani family 102 thousand lekë, for the Çeliku, Çuko, Myftiu, Bekteshi, Isai, Marko, Murra families, etc., from 70-75 thousand lekë. In addition to the above, many employees of the Reception Directorate, due to the special nature of the service, have benefited from up to 25% extra salary, which for the last 3 years this amount reaches 257 thousand lekë. The personnel serving within the families benefited, besides the salary and this extra, from food in kind worth 7 lekë per day each. For the last 3 years, the calculated sum for this provided food was 584 thousand lekë. This quota was deducted from the value of the food invoices of the various families. From verifications made in some families, the personnel declared that they did not actually consume the assigned quota, although the amount was deducted from the value of the food invoices of the privileged families," the report emphasizes.
