The mayor of New York has met with U.S. President Donald Trump several times, including a meeting at the White House earlier this year, shortly after Mamdani took office.
Recall that the incident occurred during an event at the Washington Hilton hotel, attended by approximately 2,600 guests. According to available information, the attacker fired a shotgun at a Secret Service agent but was quickly subdued and arrested.
The suspected attacker is Cole Tomas Allen (31), who lives in the suburb of Torrance near Los Angeles and worked as a teacher and video game developer from Southern California.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Allen graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 2017 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and last year completed a master's degree in computer science at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
