Construction work on the Novi tunnel is currently underway, entering its final phase, along with the section from the tunnel toward the Rodoč settlement, with a total value of 32.4 million marks. Reflecting on the general traffic situation in Mostar, Ljubo Pravdić, Director of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Roads, stated for RTV HB that they have secured a grant of 5.2 million euros from the World Bank for the construction and reconstruction of the northern entrance to the city, which has been identified as the biggest black spot on main roads. It is planned that a tender for the execution of works and supervision will be announced in June. Pravdić also said that an underpass will be built from the direction of Mostar toward Sarajevo, meaning vehicles will pass underneath it and will not enter the roundabout. He believes that the global crisis affecting the economy will also impact the costs of the works. He also appealed for the resolution of the issue of state property disposal, noting that this is slowing down other projects, such as the bypass roads in Živinice and Bihać.
