Namely, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton emphasized to Klix.ba that it is likely that trams will resume service from June on the Ilidža turnaround, which is being reconstructed as part of the track construction, to Baščaršija.

On the other hand, they pointed out that the first test runs on the tram line from Hrasnica to Baščaršija should begin in July.

After the test runs, technical inspections and other activities will follow to enable regular tram service from Hrasnica to Baščaršija. The goal is for trams on the Hrasnica-Baščaršija line to start operating before the start of the next school year.

This means there will be tram lines Hrasnica-Baščaršija and Ilidža-Baščaršija. There is also a plan for a night tram line Hrasnica-Baščaršija.

The entire tram line, from Hrasnica to Baščaršija, will be under adaptive traffic management. This will mean that trams will have priority at intersections, i.e., the green light will turn on slightly before they pass through the intersection. This will speed up their movement.

The Ministry of Transport's goal is to build a tram line from Nedžarići to Dobrinja by 2030. Additionally, the possibility of extending the tram line from Hrasnica, through Istočna Ilidža, to Sarajevo International Airport will be considered—a project that would require cooperation with the Istočna Ilidža Municipality.

In fact, back in the 1980s, it was planned to build a tram line from Ilidža, through Hrasnica and Istočna Ilidža, to Dobrinja.

If the tram line from Nedžarići to Dobrinja and from Hrasnica, through Istočna Ilidža, to the Airport were built, the population of Sarajevo Canton would be connected to the Airport by tram from two directions—one from the direction of Ilidža municipality and the other from the direction of the city municipalities.
