While attending the Broadway premiere of "The Balusters" to support her "Desperate Housewives" co-star Richard Chavira, Hatcher told People that she would love to one day perform in a Broadway show after missing an earlier opportunity in her career.

"I was thinking about how I've always talked about my biggest regret—because I don't believe in regrets—but after I launched the tour of Sally Bowles in 'Cabaret' from the production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes back in 1999, I started thinking about it. The tour covered four cities over seven months with Norbert Leo Butz," she said.

Hatcher noted that it was an incredible experience for her.

"In the end, they asked me to come to Broadway, but I didn't because I had a young child. I had already been doing it for seven months and was exhausted, but looking back, I think that was my chance to be on Broadway. So maybe I'll get another one, I hope," she said.

The revival of "Cabaret" directed by Sam Mendes premiered on Broadway on March 19, 1998, at the Kit Kat Club. The Roundabout revival starred Alan Cumming as the Emcee, Mary Louise Wilson as Fraulein Schneider, and Natasha Richardson as Sally Bowles. Cumming and Richardson won Tony Awards in 1998 for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Musical.

Additionally, Hatcher noted that her role in "Desperate Housewives" happened a long time ago, but she appreciates staying in touch with her co-stars from the series.
