The organizers of the "Todo Mundo No Rio" event announced in an Instagram statement that a man died on Sunday afternoon after sustaining injuries. "Emergency services provided first aid at the scene, and firefighters were immediately called to transport the patient. Unfortunately, the man died in the hospital. At this moment, we are offering all support, comfort, and solidarity to the responsible company, its team, and the victim's family," the statement said. The State Fire Brigade (CBMERJ) confirmed to People magazine that the man suffered crushing injuries to his lower limbs in a lifting system. Before emergency services arrived, other employees present had already extracted the victim from the equipment. Emergency personnel immediately began providing assistance to the injured man, who was then transported to Miguel Couto Hospital. According to Reuters, it was confirmed that the man was working on assembling the stage for a public concert where Shakira will perform. The Rio de Janeiro mayor's office confirmed on social media that Shakira is the headliner of this year's public concert, titled "Todo Mundo no Rio," at Copacabana.
