"My stepson adored Zadar and the job where he worked. He was in good health, loved fishing and hiking, and had traveled across his entire country, with excellent knowledge of Croatian mountains as well. We are still gathering our thoughts, relatives are coming to our house because no one can yet believe that we have said goodbye to a son who was healthy just days ago. I will persist in finding out the truth and ensuring that whoever is responsible is sanctioned," Armin Čengić told 24 sata.

As he says, he will do this not for Mirza, who will not return, but for all those seeking medical help.

"Even if he came to the wrong place, he did not miss the institution; they should have directed him where he needed to go. If they had just taken his blood, they would have seen that a heart attack was developing," Čengić stated.

Mirza Čengić, let us recall, complained to colleagues at work on April 17 about numbness in his arm and the left side of his body. He died less than twenty minutes after his blood pressure was measured at the Emergency Medical Service of Zadar County (ZHMZŽ).

They assessed that he was not in a life-threatening condition and did not require urgent hospital care, advising him to see a doctor if his condition did not improve after the weekend.

Čengić had worked for years as a waiter in the Zadar area, and in recent years he was employed at a catering facility in Zadar's hinterland.
