In September 2025, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton filed an indictment against Hattab, a member of the migrant population of Moroccan origin, on reasonable suspicion that he, as a member of an organized group along with four other individuals, kidnapped a Palestinian.
One member of this group is unavailable to the prosecuting authorities, while the other three individuals have not been identified.
In August 2025, the convicted individual unlawfully confined and held captive a Palestinian, M. E., in the area of the Izačić settlement in Bihać.
The purpose of the kidnapping was to force the Palestinian's family and friends, via video call, to pay a sum of 400 euros under the threat that if the requested amount was not paid, the hostage from Palestine would be killed.
