He said that Hungarians in Vojvodina can always count on the support of the motherland.
"I had a sincere conversation with Balint Pasztor, the president of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians. I emphasized that our Hungarian brothers and sisters in Vojvodina can continue to count on the support of the motherland. Under the Tisza government, acquired rights will remain intact, and in the further strengthening of Hungarian-Serbian relations, the primary goal will always be to further ease the situation of Hungarians living in Serbia and promote their prosperity in the homeland. At the same time, I made it clear to the president that we expect fundamental changes in the transparency and efficiency of the use of resources from the motherland, and we will not accept that Vojvodina Hungarian media, operating with the support of the motherland and under the control of the VMSZ, serve as a direct channel for Fidesz propaganda," Magyar said.
He also explained what bothered him most about the work of Hungarian-language institutions in Serbia so far.
"I did not receive a reassuring explanation as to how it could happen that, over the course of two years, the name of the strongest Hungarian party (TISZA) was mentioned only twice in the broadcasts of Vojvodina's Pannon RTV. I also find it unacceptable that the same television station reported on my speech delivered on election night in such a way that, following political instructions, they cut out the part of the speech addressed to our Hungarian brothers and sisters abroad. I also told the president that the Tisza government will investigate the use of homeland support over the past ten years, and we will also investigate the electoral abuses that occurred in connection with postal voting. I gladly accepted the president's invitation. According to my plans, I will visit our Hungarian brothers and sisters in Vojvodina sometime during the summer," Magyar stated.
