Right-wing influencers on social media platform X, following reports that Trump has now been the target of three assassination attempts, began posting that this shooting is a reason to approve the construction of a ballroom in the White House.

The construction of a ballroom is an idea the U.S. president first proposed last year, for which the East Wing of the White House has already been demolished. However, a judge in Washington blocked the start of construction due to procedural failures.

Even Trump himself, a few hours after the shooting, posted a similar message on Truth Social, stating that the decision should be changed and construction of the ballroom allowed, even though events like the White House Correspondents' Dinner are typically held outside the U.S. president's official residence.

U.S. media reported that the Department of Justice, following the shooting, sent a request to the court in Washington to withdraw its decision, allowing the Trump administration to proceed with the construction of the ballroom, regardless of the fact that it still lacks approval from relevant institutions for this project.
