He is the third soldier killed in southern Lebanon despite the ongoing ceasefire. The IDF stated that one officer and three soldiers were seriously wounded in the attack, one soldier sustained moderate injuries, and one soldier suffered minor injuries.

While the wounded soldiers were being evacuated, Hezbollah launched two more explosive drones at the forces. One drone was intercepted, while the other struck an area near the soldiers, causing no additional injuries, according to the IDF's investigation of the incident.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it targeted Israeli troops in the southern Lebanese town of Taybeh in response to what it described as Israeli violations of the ceasefire.

Hezbollah rejected accusations by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it was endangering the ceasefire in Lebanon, and said it would continue to respond to what it described as Israeli violations and the occupation of southern Lebanon.

In a statement, Hezbollah said its attacks on Israeli targets in southern Lebanon and northern Israel were "a legitimate response to the enemy's persistent violations of the ceasefire since the first day of the announcement of the temporary truce."

"Hezbollah clearly and decisively affirms that the continuation of the enemy's violations of the ceasefire... and above all the continued occupation of Lebanese territory and violations of its sovereignty, will be met with a response and resistance that is ready to defend its country and its people," the statement said.
