Argentinian player sent off after punching opposing captain Jorge Pulido. Andrada issued a public apology, justifying his unsportsmanlike move as a "momentary lapse of judgment" and promised such an incident would never happen again.
In a video message posted on Real Zaragoza's official social media profiles, the Argentine goalkeeper took responsibility for his actions:
"I am very sorry for everything that happened. This is not a good image for the club, the fans, or for a professional like myself. Throughout my entire career, I have only been sent off once, and that was for handling the ball outside the penalty area. My career speaks for itself. This was an extreme situation; I completely lost my composure and reacted that way. I deeply regret it, and I will never do it again, because I am a public figure and a professional with a long-standing career."
Andrada now faces an extremely harsh suspension and a long break due to this physical assault.
The Zaragoza goalkeeper also took the opportunity to directly apologize to the player he hit, stating he is ready for sanctions:
"I want to apologize to Jorge Pulido. We are colleagues, and honestly, it was an outburst where I completely lost touch with reality. I am here and ready to face all the consequences that La Liga imposes on me. If they want me to come and give a personal explanation, I will go."
Before Andrada's public address, Real Zaragoza issued an official statement strongly condemning the events at the end of the match played at the "El Alcoraz" stadium. The club announced it would "analyze the events in detail and take appropriate disciplinary measures" against their goalkeeper.
"We are an example and a role model for many fans, especially the boys and girls who cheer for us at every match and dream of one day becoming like their idols. Precisely because of this, such shameful scenes should never have happened," the Spanish club's stern statement read.
