"Such ideas are unacceptable for the vast majority of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we will never allow them," stated Bećirović, reacting to a panel on Bosnia and Herzegovina held last weekend in Zagreb, where some participants characterized BiH as a dysfunctional state and spoke about the ethnic restructuring of the country.

He noted that as a state, we have accepted the obligation to fully implement standards prohibiting discrimination and ensuring equal voting rights. Therefore, the task of progressive forces in BiH in the coming period is to insist even more strongly on the enforcement of European Court of Human Rights rulings, so that BiH can become a member of the European Union and NATO as soon as possible.

Bećirović added that we are obliged to implement all rulings of the European Court of Human Rights and that our goal is to eliminate the systemic discrimination identified in those rulings, in order to ensure that all citizens are equal before the law.

Following a meeting of the members of the BiH Presidency with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, who is visiting our country, Bećirović stated that BiH remains committed to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
