As is known, the upcoming World Cup will be held for the first time in three countries—the USA, Canada, and Mexico—and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team will be there as well.

Sergej Barbarez's squad qualified for their second major tournament after victories in the playoffs, first in Wales and later in Zenica against Italy.

As we count down the days to the start of the championship, American media are focusing on the footballers worth watching at the tournament.

Fox Sports reported that from our national team, attention should be paid to Esmir Bajraktarević, a 21-year-old PSV footballer.

"It's easy to pick the 40-year-old striker and captain, Edin Džeko, but we opted for the surprise star, Esmir Bajraktarević. This 21-year-old product of the MLS academy, born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, after his parents fled the war-torn country in the 1990s, scored the decisive penalty against Italy in the March World Cup playoff," Fox states, continuing:

"After being dropped from the U.S. Olympic team roster in 2024, he decided to change his sporting nationality. The player affectionately nicknamed 'The Messi of Milwaukee' now returns to his home country for this summer's World Cup."

As a reminder, our national team is placed in Group B at the World Cup alongside Canada, Switzerland, and Qatar.
